Sidney Powell’s Confession: Revealing Her Role in Election Manipulation and Unauthorized Data Access

Election Subversion Case

Sidney Powell (Former attorney ) has pleaded guilty in the Georgia election subversion case, admitting her role in the breach of election systems in Coffee County, Georgia in January 2021. She had initially faced seven felonies but pleaded guilty to six misdemeanors related to conspiracy to interfere with election duties.

Sentencing and Obligations

Fulton County prosecutors are recommending a six-year probation sentence for Powell. She will also need to testify at future trials, issue an apology letter to Georgia citizens, pay nearly $9,000 in restitution and fines, and turn over documents. Notably, former President Donald Trump, a co-defendant, was not mentioned in Powell’s plea documents.

Allegations against Sidney Powell

After the 2020 election, Powell peddled conspiracy theories about election fraud, making false claims about millions of votes being flipped in a global scheme against Trump. Powell’s guilty plea includes admitting to tampering with electronic ballot markers and tabulating machines and unlawfully accessing government computers.

Cooperation with Prosecutors

Powell’s cooperation with prosecutors is considered significant, as she agreed to testify and provide credible information. Her plea agreement is seen as a breakthrough for the prosecutors in the case.

Other Defendants and Legal Issues

While Powell and bail bondsman Scott Hall have pleaded guilty in the case, the other 17 defendants, including Trump, have pleaded not guilty. Beyond the Georgia case, Powell still faces potential legal consequences as an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal election subversion case against Trump. She is also involved in defamation lawsuits from voting technology companies, Dominion Voting Systems , who sued her for falsely accusing them of election rigging in 2020.
